Roma Bank will be celebrating its 90th Anniversary in September 2010. Over the years, we have weathered many economic crises, including the Great Depression, recessions and the latest economic crisis which has resulted in the highest rates of unemployment, foreclosures and bankruptcies in the last 50 years.
During our long history, Roma Bank has not deviated from its mission of providing superior financial services in a professional and personal manner to our customers and communities. In the last five years we have opened seven new branches and expanded our presence in Burlington County and moved into Ocean County. On July 16, 2010, Roma Bank acquired Sterling Banks, Inc. Sterling's ten-branch network in Burlington and Camden counties will increase our presence in Burlington and move us into another county in southern New Jersey.
Each step of the way in our 90 year history, we have embraced and supported the communities we serve. In 2006, Roma Bank established the Roma Bank Community Foundation, which has donated $1.1 million since its inception.
As part of our Initial Public Offering, we created a de novo bank, RomAsia Bank, which serves the multi-cultural Asian community of Mercer and Middlesex counties. With assets over $100 million, RomAsia Bank recently opened their first branch in Edison, New Jersey.
With over 37,000 surcharge-free ATMs that provide 24/7 access to customer’s accounts and our electronic banking and bill paying programs, our customers can safely and conveniently bank anywhere – anytime.
