Night Depositories

Our Night Depositories are available to both individuals and businesses at anytime. This is a safe and convenient way to make deposits and loan payments before or after banking hours. This service is available FREE of charge. For bulk deposit items, we offer locking depository bags. Contact a customer service representative for additional details.

First Home Club

The First Home Club (FHC) was launched by the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York in 1995 to offer an incentive for households with incomes at or below 80% of area median income to save towards the purchase of a new home. The FHC provides down payment and closing cost assistance by granting four dollars in matching funds for each dollar saved in a dedicated account. An eligible first-time homebuyer must save $1,875.00 to get the maximum grant of $7,500.

The FHLB requires that:

• You must reside in New Jersey.
• The property you purchase must be in the State of New Jersey.
• You must open an Individual Development Account (IDA) at Roma Bank.
• You must commit to a ten to 24-month savings program.
• Your savings must be deposited into your IDA every month.
• You cannot contribute less than the amount you agreed to save.
• If you withdraw money from the IDA, you will no longer qualify for the program.
• FHC members must attend credit-counseling classes.

Roma Bank contributes to the program by:

• Waiving the $300.00 application fee.
• Waiving the $450.00 appraisal fee.
• Waiving the $150.00 attorney review fee.
• Waiving the $25.00 per applicant credit report fee.
• Waiving the $30.00 flood determination fee.
• Paying the $250.00 fee for required credit counseling classes.
• Reducing the mortgage interest rate by 1/8%.
• Requiring a down payment of only 10%.
• Waiving the requirement for Private Mortgage Insurance.
